Garden & Building Department
Cement, steel and zinc, ready when the work is.
Cement, sand, blocks, rebar, lumber and board, zinc sheets, plywood and tarpaulins, plus wheelbarrows, shovels, hoses, sprinklers and garden tools. The basics that keep home projects and small builds moving.
What our garden & building department stocks
This is the heavy end of the store. We stock cement, sand and blocks, steel and rebar, lumber and board, and zinc sheets for roofing work. For storm season we carry hurricane preparation supplies, including plywood and tarpaulins. On the yard side, the department covers wheelbarrows, shovels, garden hoses, sprinklers and garden tools.
Most of this department moves in bulk, and bulk is exactly what we deliver. Cement, blocks, lumber and full orders go out to sites across Kingston and St. Andrew. Call ahead with your list and address, we will quote the delivery, and free loading help is there for bulk orders when you collect yourself.

The problem in detail
Small Kingston builds stall for one reason more than any other: materials arriving out of step with the work. The crew shows up, the cement does not, and a day of labour is spent waiting. The other version is worse, materials arriving early and sitting exposed. Cement bags that catch rain before the pour are wasted money, and steel left uncovered starts surface rust before it goes into the column.
The stop-start build is normal here. A family pours the slab this year, raises the block walls next year, roofs the year after, buying materials in the order their money allows. That rhythm works fine when each stage's materials are quoted, ordered and delivered against the days the work actually happens, and it burns cash when they are not.
Then there is hurricane season. Every year the same thing happens: a system forms, and plywood, tarpaulins, zinc and fasteners vanish from every shelf in the city inside two days. The households that sorted their loose zinc sheets and bought their tarpaulins in the calm months are the ones watching the forecast instead of the queue.
How Malcolm’s helps
Bring the plan, or just the stage you are at. Tell us what is being poured, raised or roofed and when, and we will help you quote the materials against the days the work happens rather than one oversized order that sits in the weather. For bulk cement, blocks, steel, lumber and zinc, call ahead with your address and we will quote delivery to the site. Note that bulk materials like cement, sand, blocks and lumber cannot be returned once they leave the store, so sizing the order right matters, and we will help you do that at the counter. Builders and contractors buying by the job can ask about a trade account so pricing holds across stages.
Not sure what you need? Bring the old part or a photo to the counter, or call ahead and we will check stock before you drive over. We deliver across our Kingston service area on larger orders.
Garden & Building FAQs
Do you deliver cement, blocks and lumber to my site?
Yes. We deliver cement, blocks, lumber, steel, zinc and bulk orders across Kingston and St. Andrew. Delivery is quoted at the time of order based on size, weight and distance, so call (876) 926-3611 with your list and address.
Do you stock zinc sheets and roofing materials?
Yes, we stock zinc sheets for roofing work, along with lumber and board and the fasteners the job needs from our fasteners department. Call ahead with your quantities and we will confirm stock and quote delivery for larger orders.
What should I buy before hurricane season?
Plywood, tarpaulins, and the fasteners to put them up, plus a check on any loose zinc before a system forms. We stock hurricane preparation supplies year round, and the calm months are the time to buy them. Once a watch goes up, every shelf in Kingston empties at once.
Can I return leftover cement or blocks?
No. Bulk materials like cement, sand, blocks and lumber are non-returnable once they have left the store, which is why we help you size the order at the counter before you buy. Bring your measurements and we will work the quantities with you.
